Action Project Description:

My goal was to look at problems that are wide scale but could potentially be solved by the at home consumer. I looked into the production of methane and learned that around 20% of all methane is produced in landfills. This is because many people dump their food scraps into the waste stream and once all that food is dumped into a landfill it starts undergoing an anaerobic process to form methane. So what if you were to take that out of the system and produce your own methane at home? Where it could be used as heating or a cooking gas. I designed and constructed an at home biodigester that any average american could use and build themselves.
