Research Question:What can we learn from the field of psychology to inspire climate action specifically within the medium of art?
Thesis Statement:Psychological research suggests that climate change messaging is most effective when individuals communicate both the positive effects of action and the negative effects of inaction, and when the messaging feels personal and relevant.

Action Project Description:
My project was a mural, 12 x 8 feet that used the strategies learned through my research to create a piece that inspires, informs and invokes emotion in the audience. This piece uses positive and negative framing as well as keeping the topic relevant and personal to inspire action on climate change for the better. This mural took around 39 hours and a lot of paint. I used multiple medias to give it more of a creative flare and make it more personal to the durango audience. I used community input to incorporate how the community is acting on climate change to give the audience a feeling of relevancy. I created a time lapse as well to reach an even larger audience though social media.
