Research Question:

What are the essential components of Physical-Activity Based Programs to Best Improve the Physical and Psychological Well-Being of Youth Exposed to Adverse Childhood Experiences?

Thesis Statement:

In order to improve the physical and psychological well-being of children with ACEs, it is critical for programs to include physical exercise, mentoring, and time in nature. Each of these promotes physical and psychological well-being by buffering the biological effects of toxic stress on the body and reducing the odds of developing mental disorders including depression, anxiety, and post-traumatic-stress-disorder.

My action project was to create a small business to support the community of Durango through the COVID-19 pandemic by providing services such as food deliveries and tutoring. The business is called Students at Your Service and 3 other seniors and I worked together to deliver over 1,000 of food, tutor elementary school students, and run errands.
